I have an 86 camino with the stock idiot lights and no tach. This has to go. I want to swap in a gauge cluster and tach from an 85 monte ss. Theres a bunch on E(vil) BAY. But none of the sellers know anything about converting, altho some claim to have the "all important plug for the conversion". What is involved in doing this? I'm expecting a serious conflict with wiring. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I just posted this in interior and realized i should have really posted it here. I'm new.

Welcome Matt,
This swap is not as difficult as you would think.
This topic has been discussed quite a lot here.Go to the top of the home page and click on the forums,Then roll down to body resto and click on electrical systems,There is some info on your task here.I'm sure other members will guide you to more info, so this is a start. Also FYI, I believe in case you didn't know, a 85 cluster has a differnt color background than the 86 ,also your needles are red compared to orange on the 85.

Yes, the conversion is fairly easy but remember the sending units for guages are different than idiot lights. Besides the guages you need the printed circuit, old ones are fragile, make sure the one you buy is OK. If you buy the guage panel see if the seller will throw in the sending units {oil pressure and water temp).
