Where would be the best place to look for orignal buckets and console for a 72 Elky. Any condition would be fine, just need a place to start. any help would be appreciated.I know Chevell is the same. : :? :?

I agree that eBay would be the first place to try. And depending on your time frame for what you need, you can go to the swap meets.
If you go the new or reproduction route, check the ECC sponsors. They have all you need and give a discount also. I've also had good luck with a company called Danchuck (http://www.danchuck.com/), out of CA. Those along with the standard, Original Parts Group, Year One, The El Camino Store, etc. and I'm sure you can find what you're looking for.

I agree with ebay, but if you do a search on Ebay, dont limit it to El Camino's or Chevelles, as most other GM A-body cars used the same seat....Monte Carlo's of course, but also GTO's, LeMans, Cutlass, etc.... and at the most you might just have to re-cover if you want Chevelle/Elky seat patterns, but Monte's and some of the others have nice fabric seats for comfort so those can be real nice...

You can find these at Pontiac sites on the web, as well, and other parts are interchangeable if you do your homework...also sometimes the prices are 'better' when it doesnt say 'Chevelle' if you know what I mean.

Just got a cat from original parts group .It had alot of interior package options depending on complete interior upgrades . even has frames for the seats they had a good point about older seat frames being cracked in places not being able to be fixed. maybe they just want to sell some frames who knows? but before i would send some big money that ebay can do in the last 2 min of bidden to some creep in the woods i would get a catalog a couple of the one above are good learn the prices of parts and try a couple of local swap meets and sit on them , feel them ,smell them .put them in a wagon or drag them . I dicked around on ebay lookin at rusted up crap that went cheeper some times in the cats and a hell of a lot nicer reproductinn parts . I dont have a numbers car but can say i do and if they want to bend over to look for the numbers I,ll just kick them In the ass. but thats just my 2 cents.

I would agree with this. Not that my agreement holds a lot of water but, I would look to see if you can locate an aftermarket manufacturer. I know that the consols are for sale new at EC Parts.net and The El Camino Store and from OPGI.com. I thought that I had seen the seats (whole seats) for sale at one of the on-line places.

Personally I wouldn't buy squat from E-Bay. Most of it is a scam and there are no assurances that what you spend money on is in fact what your going to get or if you even get it ever. Also they can set bots in E-Bay to drive up the cost of their own goods so they make more than what it is actually worth. Then you still have people that bid on things that end up costing them more than it would have, had they spent the time looking around to find a repop or aftermarket item.

Just my $0.02 worth.

Good Luck.
