hello im new here and im $400 short of being the proud owner of a mostly original 1985 el camino ss
my grandpa bought this car 5-6 years from texas its real solid there was a dime size rust spot on the rear drivers wheel lip and my grandpa cut out the rust and made the patch but never got around to finishing it up. so i will have a small amount of paint repair to do once i get the car home

only thing the car really needs is new rear brakes (gramps replaced all lines and front brakes last summer)
weather stripping (im guessing from the heat in texas)
and some new window tint
the original owner pulled the 305 and rebuilt it with a cam and some other parts
added an edlebrock intake and holly carb chrome tappet covers and some msd stuff

my plan is to later on put my built 350 roller motor and brand new 350th in it with some flowmasters

i have a set of 22inch wheels for it but im looking for the 20inch iroc wheels
the interior is blue with the half bench seat im looking for blue monte buckets and center concel

Welcome aboard, Charles. The console your looking for came in 78-81 Malibu's, 78-87 El Camino's And Monte Carlo's. Look for bucket seats in all G-Bodys. Most New and older GM bucket seat will bolt up to G-body seat tracks. You can also use four G-body bench seat tracks. Doug

Hey OhioHoss, I'm in TTown also. I'm newer on here also, great , helpful site! I have a 65 Elky I just recently got from Calif.. I also have a 30 Model A Sedan street-rod, BUT it does have a Chevy motor, so I can make it home from carshows.. Hope to talk some more as our projects get deeper in depth. My Camino is ALL original, I hope to keep it as close as my wallet can handle. Mine has a 283 with a 3-speed on the "tree".. Trying to get some pics on here as soon as I get them taken, after the snow and rain is gone.. Hope to talk later.. John..

Hey sounds good, lots of weekly shows, as you know. Now I have to get the wife or daughter to drive the "A" to the shows, because neither one can drive a stick on the column, if I want both cars there.Putting my wife or daughter behind 450hp scares me,,. Stay in touch, I've got lots of Chevy stuff..

Ya I can remember how fun it WAS , some 40 years ago. Like I said I just got this car delivered in early January, so I only drove it about 5 miles so far. Didn't take me long to remember that going back into first gear ISN'T fully syncronized.. Looking forward to meeting up with you and sharing stories..
