: 1959 Tail Light Lenses; Rare as hen's teeth???

Well I've done a prior history and present search on ebay for tail light lenses (right and left inner and right and left outer) looking for NOS or reproduction. These might be as rare as hen's teeth.

Other people have tried to cut the one piece '59 Impala lenses to make them fit the Brookwood, Sedan Delivery or the El Camino with no luck. :(

Anyone here know of NOS or reproduction outlets excluding Hemmings, Impala Bobs, or Harmons??? Don't need them immediately, however it would be nice to have a spare set.

Thanks for any info.

Thanks Brian,

Wow, and I even have that catalog but haven't ordered from them for several years.

Second request...heck, I didn't even think I'd hear about the first...

Where can I find the tail light lens/housing gaskets (four of these also)? Mine are from 1959 and I am extremely careful when I change bulbs.

Thanks again...

Hey Brian,

Unfortunately, the 60 is way different than the 59 in the tail light department. In fact, the only body parts they share are the roof, the glass and the trim around the top of the bed. Those cars are from the days when the body styles were changed every year . . .

Hey Dr59Elky,

Have you checked any of the local swap-meets?

We have two automotive swap-meets a year at Raceway Park here in New Jersey amd I know I have seen 59 tail lights. I have picked up perfect lenses and bezels for my 60 for little money. You just have to be patient and scour through a lot of junk to find a couple jewels.

Do you have anything like that out where you live?

Try also this guy who specializes in Impala parts. He sells Elky parts sometimes when they get a hold of any . . .
