Will 18 8.5 wheels with 35mm offset fit on a 82 elky without any probs thanks in advance.

No, well not without problems! Although you may be able to fit 8.5 inch wide rims on, this would only work with 0" offset. 35mm is WAY TOO MUCH offset, your either going to have to use some very thick wheel spacers (actually adapters) or notch your frame rails...this would be for the back. For the front, you would only be able to use wheel spacers (adaptors). Wheel adaptors are not recommened as they put additional stress on suspension parts and wheel bearings, and the studs are subject to snapping...very dangerous! Wheels with a 4.5 backspacing 0" offset should work. An 8" wide wheel 4.5" backspacing, 0" offset is about as wide as you would want to go without any problems.

An 18X8.5 rim with the proper backspacing (4 1/2"?) could work on the rear but I doubt the same rim could work on the front without major rubbing unless the tire size is smaller than 225X18.
