Can anyone advise what size wheels and tires came on a 87 EC? I am bidding on one and I want to replace the wheels and tires asap.

Stock wheels were 14"x6" with a 4.5" five lug bolt pattern. The original tires were P205/75R-14 steel belted radial.

Is it 4.5 or 4.75 pattern?

Indeed, I think 5 on 4.75 (5 on 120mm) is correct.
4.5 is for early 70 and before?

No Chevrolet has ever used a 5X4.5" bolt circle. All 5 lug GM compacts and intermediates are 5X4.75 from the early 50's to present. The full size GMs, like late model caprice and Buick estate wagon etc.. are 5X5". Then there are the the not really GM cars like metro, cavalier, saturn etc, I don't know what they are-not that I care either. Trucks are also 5X5 except S10 which is 5X4.75-pretty much any Chevy wheel will bolt up to a Chevelle/El Camino.
