First off let me say that I'm NOT the one who discovered this. I could not find the author here, where I first read about it. What I tried was a crossmember from a F**d LTD. It fits great! All I had to do was cut about 1-1/2 inch off the right side, drill new holes and it fits great. Still have the correct height and still have clearance on the drivers side. It didn't hurt that I had the body off, and I just put the body back today and the clearance checked out OK. Just drill and use the original rest on the right side, and drill and shim the rail on the left. I also installed a plate on the left side, just to be safe.
