my elkie has a 229 standard trans Im going to place a 89 350 TBI I was wondering if the peresure plate & flywheel from the 229 will bolt right up to the 89 350 ot would I has to buy a new setup

No...your 89 350 engine is a one piece rear main seal block, your 229 is a two piece rear main seal block. I don't know the specifics but you can not interchange the flywheels because of this. I'm not sure about the pressure plate. An adaptor is made to put a two piece rear main seal crankshaft into an 86 and newer block, but this would cost you much more to do than just buying the correct flywheel for the 86 350. I'm not to sure it would be a good idea to reuse the flywheel and pressure plate and disc even if they did fit, go with a new setup, you have an aluminum bellhousing I assume? What you really have is a potential bomb close to the family jewels. Ever see what a clutch explosion can do to an aluminum bellhousing and floorboard. I've seen pieces of the flywheel go thru the fenders! Don't nickel dime your clutch setup...theres more than just mechanical parts at stake! Seriously, a clutch can explode with the force of a hand grenade.

the clutch set up is from auto zone life tie warranty no problem there the bell is aluniunm but the elkie is just a daily driver just need more pore to haul will the bell bolt right up and would I use the same fork
