It goes under the interior 1/4 glass trim. I'm looking for a pair but I don't know what they're called. Are they reproduced?

OPGI has them, look under weather stripping, can't miss them

The picture looks like the black plastic reveal strip under the B piller. If it is then the right and left are interchangeable. If you have then and they are damaged then you can glue them in place and glue the damage (after you paint them.) The kinda snap into place on the sheet metal piece. If you are missing one or two then look for a donor vehicle. You can even face them with a piece of plastic.

If I guessed wrong on what the piece is, then sorry for wasting your time.

At that position I still don't even know what the piece is. I know I can't help but just wanted to know what the heck you guys are talking about. Michael:nanawrench::nanawrench:

Old Chevys has it right about the location of the piece, but I still don't know what it's called or if it is reproduced. I have a parts car but the ones on that car are no better that the ones I have. I'm confused about glueing any damage to them though. I would like to replace them if possible.

If it goes under the 1/4 window it possibly would be the "weatherstrip, 1978-1987 El Camino quarter window"
part #L240323 in the OPG catalog. This also has a chrome beading that fits under the outside edge of the glass.
hope this helps !

I'm on my phone, but I'll check it when I get home. I can tell you that this piece does NOT have any chrome bead. It fits inside the interior B pillar trim, and does nothing in the way of sealing the window.

Part number L240323 at opgi.com is not found in the search function

My bad guys. I reread my first post and I said it goes under the 1/4 glass interior trim. I should have said it goes behind the trim (B pillar) and not under it.

Is it possible to hold that piece where it belongs and take a picture?

It certainly is.

The piece is onlly visible from the outside thru the quarter glass. If you are trying to do a factory restore then you will have to find an original piece. The right and left are interchangeable so if only one edge is chipped or bent then put that edge twords the front of the truck where it will be hidden by the B pillar trim. They kinda snap in place inside the trim and the one screw goes thru one of the holes. This piece also helps with any rattling.

If you do not mind a little creative fabrication you can use black foam weatherstripping to create the black line.

I covered my B pillar trim with foam backed headliner material (actually the trim shop guy did it) and installed them with the reveal stips. No rattle and everything is straight.

I have spare A pillar covers and sail panel covers but no B pillar covers.

Thanks for the input Jerry. I was hoping to find reproductions at one of the vendors. Lol, I still don't know what they are called.
