I'm a newbie so be gentle. I need help with decoding a 67 Elky Cowl Tag. This is a great place! Been hanging out on the Chevelle list and didn't even know this was here. Here goes!

ok here is what i could find for you.

ST67 ----------- Model Year 1967
13680 ---------- El Camino Custom V-8
Kan ------------ Built in Kansas City
7261 ----------- Production Sequence
TR-763 -------- Black Vinyl Bucket Seats

the -2 and the rest of the numbers i do not find in my book.

I think the "03A" under the words General Motors Corporation are the build date. "03A" would come out to March w/ 1st week.
I can't find anything for the 8534.
The last line has me puzzled also. I do see a code of "EX" engine code for a 396 / 375hp. But I do not see anything that says that code is on the cowl tag.

A few more pieces to your puzzle???

I'm sure others on these forums will add their opinions and facts.

Now that was exactly what I was wanting to hear! lol I wished I had the motor that did come in it but unfortunately I guess she has since passed. It was a pretty cool little 350 with some DZ 302 heads on it, but I have a big block to go back in its place if that indeed is what it meant. Also if it helps anyone in decoding, the elky has twin piston disc brakes, 12 bolt posi and had console but with automatic and not a 4 spd.
