: Need a teacher!!
Anyone in the DFW area interested in getting together and teaching me a few things about my car?? lol it kinda just fell on my lap , and i really really would like to know exactly what is going on under the hood. so far i have found out it is has a 305 (5L) V8 engine? and thats about it. I have never really been into cars until recently but it seems a bit hard to pick up on the lingo and knowing what anything does. All my friends have ricers or luxury cars, which doesnt help any. I think i am the first asian in this area to own an el camino hahaha .
i just dont know anything. so................ i'll bring beers:nanawrench:
at some point i would like to know how to take the whole thing apart and rebuilding it i justt dont know where to start.
thanks for your help!
toms84ss 04-26-2011, 03:48 PM Well I can't make it to Texas, but is there a problem with it somewhere? Thats the first place I would start. If not a good tune up and drive and enjoy it. Maybe a sound system or rims and tires. Oh, and welcome to ECC from AZ.

There are several of us in the Dallas area, Wu. I have an '86 with a 305 in it and I learn a lot from these guys. It would probably benefit you a great deal to join us in Belton on May 14 - I'm hoping to learn much more about my "trar" while I'm there.
We can learn together! :)

ACZ66 04-29-2011, 11:15 AM Welcome to the site! You came to the right place, these guys are a wealth of knowledge that will save you time and headaches. Also a lot of laughs. Tell us more about the rig or pix. You can get a lot of input just from that. Enjoy!
Lenny Carey 04-29-2011, 05:49 PM Wu Wu , Since this is a new vehicle to you and hopefully you will make the road trip to the Belton show , I would suggest you find a shop you trust and have them do a safety and systems check for you . Perhaps it is time for a little TLC and you will know it is ready for the road . Having the other members at Belton check out your Camino for you is a great opportunity you should do . Have a good time . Some of us Florida boys are envious .
