I replaced the rear end on my 79 this week(I've had it in the garage for about 3 weeks). And of courese I didn't do it because I "wanted" to. I was thinking of doing it next weekend but monday at lunch the gmc made up it's own mind and said it had enough. I was sitting at a stop light and when it turned green it went clunk and I said "should of replaced it when I got it". The good thing is I replaced the stock springs for Malibu wagon springs and new non air shocks. The ride is so much better and I think it looks a little better too. If I only had a better front sway bar and any sway bar in the back. :D  8)

I installed used springs I got from a parts car I paid $50.00 for. I did call a few parts stores and wagon springs new are only around $80.00 in my area. But the used springs worked fine for me(so far).
