Hello everyone

I am new here also, so get ready for a few questions i like to ask :)
I just bought this 1976 Classic 400 ci in its original state.
Now i was wondering where is the best shop (online or not)
to get the parts i want.
what i need are, the rubbers for in the doors, and those 2 copper like rings that are on the chassis that hold the door when closed. (don't know the names of em sorry) now when the door is closed and i hit a bump u hear that the door is not completely closed or at least not tight
thats what i want to repair quickly.
After this i will b adding dual exhaust, (tips welcome)
I hope you all can understand my jibberish :) forgive me i am dutch.

Greetings

Dopatha

and if u feel the urge to check my page i setup yesterday feel free
just a few pics i took thats it, will b adding more asap as i go.

First of all...http://pages.prodigy.net/indianahawkeye/newpage34/20.gif to NECOA!!! http://www.emotipad.com/newemoticons/Wave.gif

One of the best places i've found for parts on line is Honest Charlies. Here's a link to their index page.

Nice looking ride. I have a '76, but it is NOT as solid as that one. What is that in the bed?? Finding parts for a '76 sometimes is a hassle. Seems like it is the "forgotten" year.

Welcome!
I'm afraid you'll find the 4th generation El Camino (1973-77) to be the hardest series El Camino to find parts and information for.
Honest Charley's has very few 4th generation parts.
Try http://www.elcaminostore.com/ or http://www.ecparts.net/ for 4th gen parts.
Nice looking Elky on your web page. Is that a custom compartment/tool box covering the "smuggler's box" in your bed?
Good luck with your project. Enjoy it!

Welcome to our European Regional Chapter! You'll be surprised about how many El Caminos are in your local area. Contact Maikel Joosten of the Netherlands for info about his upcoming show with about 80 El Caminos in attendance! He will also help with local info about other owners, spare parts, etc. He can be reached at:

maikel_meijel@hotmail.com or royalknight@hetnet.nl

Maikel also has a great website at http://run.to/elcamino

Good luck and keep in touch with us here at NECOA.

Thanks alot guys for the friendly warm welcome :-D
I know the 76 parts are harder to aquire, lets hope i dun break it. 8O
Then again it might be a nice quest.
The 76 and 77 are the 2 models of the El Camino i like the most
the thingy in the back in the bed is custom made yeah, underneath is a 80 liter fueltank and was allready there when i bought it.
i have seen Maikels page allready as well, very nice. And if i ever need something i surely will contact him, seems he is well involved allready in this.

Sorry all for misleading :) Here an update
It is a 1977 build, so probably not the original engine because 400 ci only came in the 1976 build.
