Having s difficult time referencing what I have here.
VII08TWZ I think the II might be 11 but i swear that it is stamped II
C8Z129663
I have been looking thru referencing charts using google and I am having some issue with figuring out what exactly it is.
I know this topic comes up all the time but I have spent about an hour trying to find it. I may be being dumb but a little help would be greatly appreciated.

Well i cannot figure out why the II would be in play but the twz is a code from 1978, it began its life as a truck engine. 350 ci and only 165 hp. I believe it was rebuilt before I got to it tho. I know there is a aftermarket cam in it and am wondering what other goodies might have been installed.
As for everything but the suffix code, still haven't a good clue.
I did the timing on the engine yesterday and have it at about 14 degrees currently. Showed much improvement over the 8 degree setting it was on. The exhaust smells more like exhaust and less like gas and the idle is a lot smoother although maybe a little quick. I was occasionally getting a backfire when flooring it which made me think the timing could use a little love. Would be willing to take suggestions on how much a 350 could potentially be advanced to.
The II just means the date, the 11th. I and 1 were used interchangeably.

I am getting nowhere trying to find the block numbers I have on my engine. Its a small block and the pad on the front and below the RIGHT head on the block is as follows : K0120FKA . The pad sticks about about an inch and is about two inches long, which according to one site indicates a later ,possibly 99 up, block. What am I doing wrong ? I have spent a lot of time and cannot seem to find it. Thanks for any help ! Wayne

Well if you can look around the back of the block where the bell housing hooks up there should be another set of numbers that may hold a little more insight. I looked for a minute and couldn't find the FKA suffix.
