I bought a real inexpensive set of headers for this application but the #4 exhaust tube hits the rear of the upper A arm. Does anyone know of a brand that will actually fit so I don't have to grind part of the a arm away?

What motor mount are you using? Most header manufacturers specify using BB motor mounts on the frame. I believe these are available repro now. I put a 427 in my 64 on SB mounts and got away with it, but I guess the BB mounts move the position of the motor slightly.

That is a good question because they came with the truck. I know they are solid mounts. (no rubber cushion)

I'm not sure if this will help, but I can tell you what setup worked for me. I still have the factory engine mounts on the frame (small block) and probably have the same set of solid motor mounts you do. I got mine from Moroso I believe. I run a set of Hooker headers, which recommended using BB frame mounts. The rubber cushions or solid mounts we both seem to have should make no difference. The rubber mounts or solids we have bolt to the block the same, BB or SB. I did spend a few bucks and buy a good set of headers, which may have saved my bacon in this case.
