Time to take it back to your mechanic and ask him about it. And the leak may be from the bottom hose connection also. Check the hose clamps etc and try finding where it leaks, if you don't already know. If the core is leaking, it may be under a warranty yet.

That's alot to pay for a radiator and hoses but I will guess this must be a show car then. Getting back to the leak, I would strongly say take it back if you are unable to locate the leak yourself. I had a leak also and finally found a hair line crack on the intake manifold. Michael

Can you tell where it is leaking? Is it leaking in the same place as the previous radiator?

Could be .... Bad choice of mechanics... bad choice of radiators.... bad choice of hoses and clamps. At any rate. I'd take it back and ask your pricey mechanic. Failing that, I'd go to a decent radiator shop and have a pressure test done and see where the leak actually is occurring.

I think the price you paid is high also, Last winter I installed a new radiator and hoses in my 1990 S-10 , 4.3 with a/c & automatic trans. I bought everything at NAPA. Total cost for everything including new anti freeze was under $200.00. Took me under 1.5 hours to remove and install everything. That guys labor rate must be out in the ozone.

Just my thoughts.

Simple way to start: get your screw driver out and check all the hose clamps. A leak sometimes wont be very visible after the engine cools, since the coolant will evaporate some from heat as the engine cools, unless there is a puddle under the radiator, on the core support. Did the heater hoses get replaced also ? If so, check those clamps too....
Labor rates for mechanics/shops vary all over the country, so it's hard to tell if you paid too much. A car dealer around here gets over 100 bucks an hour, shop rate, for example

yes the mechanic said he replaced my whole radiator including the hoses.. and im guessing the clamps.. i feel like its leaking from the bottom big hose.. theres where it was leaking from on the old radiator but it was actually the cornner of the tank but i couldnt see.. will tightening that clamp hurt the hose? should i do it because that would make me a lot happier with no radiator fluid leaking -_-

Check your overflow hose by the cap.Its hard to see the water running down the side of radiator it evaporates quick when hot. Turn off the engine open the hood and watch for a few minutes.:dontknow:

Where you finally able to locate the problems with your water leak? It's too bad your mechanic charged you so much the first time. Well if you are unable to fix it yourself maybe you have a good friend that can help you or you BOTH take it back to the last guy that worked on your leak, before. Michael Let me know what happens.
