Well, the red LED bulbs and clear taillight lenses did not work out. Not enough juice to run the rear sequential turn signals and the LED bulbs...so we went to Plan-B, 1963-67 Corvette taillights, three on each side, using the sequential turn signal control box. Also moved the license plate pocket to the rolled pan, also new pics posted in the 5th gen album to show the custom 67 Chevelle SS hood "humps": http://www.elcaminocentral.com/modules.php?set_albumName=album09&id=87_2_1&op=modload&name=Gallery&file=index&include=view_photo.php

You did a great job on the tail lights and smoothing your tail gate looks good, i still have a sequential flasher off my old 69 cougar. i know you must of had a hard time to wire up the flasher because there are lots of wires on the flasher that came off the cougar.

Hi Todd,
I actually bought the used '69 Cougar sequential turn signal control box, and it had so many different wires that I said heck with it, and bought a "hot rod" new sequential turn signal unit off the internet.
Anybody need the "Cougar turn signal control box"? :-D
Thanks for the comments.

Lookin real good Dan! How tuff was it to do the hood, 67 SS (My Favorite).
I watched the way they did the 77 Elky on Overhaulin, was yours done similarly?
Thanx,
Lee

Very nice Dan. 8) I like how the Corvette lights came out.

Thanks, guys.
I didn't see how the hood was done on TV. There are a few pictures of the hood process in the 5th gen album under ElkySS on page-1.

Thanks, guys!
Finished installing the 700r4 yesterday.
Need a new high dollar tranny dipstick.
3:73 ring and pinion sitting in the back floorboard. I'm not sure I've got the skills to install them. Looking for someone I can trust to do the job. :)
Last big change I would like is a Ram-Jet fuel injection unit. I'm tired of this carb thingy.

Yeah another of the "benefits" of LEDs is they draw less current than incandescent bulbs. However, the flasher depends on current draw, and will not work right without enough. (that's how it tells you a light burned out)

I like your installation of sequential lights
But for my taste, it seems like cutting the tail lights from a pickup into the back corners of the body would look like the general should have made it (5th gen) Anybody tried that and willing to share advice??
