Antique or classic?
I haven't lived in PA for a long time, but I remember that they had restrictions for both plates. Classic could be driven up to 5,000 miles annually, antique only 500. But annual safety inspections were not required.
Maryland has "historic" plates for cars over 20 years old. That registration exempts the car from the annual emissions testing.

no annual inspections, and no regestration either.
yes it has limited use, but once its done it will be a weekend warrior only.

Just registered my 84 in Maine today. Antique plates on hand right at the DMV. No mileage restrictions, but can't be primary vehicle and only for casual use. Figure I'll drive it to work about half the time in the summer.

I have antiques as well, Mass Is a pill about the part time vehicle. Your not supposed to drive it to work or anything, luckily my work is next to a body shop and I just say I'm going there for some work lol....
Now also my insurance limits me to 3,000 miles or less a year, full collision for what most people would go "your nuts" for stated value for a 5th gen, $225 a year with 200 mile free towing.

I have to go in and register today, and I'm considering antique or classic plates.
However, this is a hard lesson learned by several people in my T bucket club: "Stated value" is not the same as "agreed value." Be sure which you have!

Hope it goes well for you. My brother was just over at PennDOT in Harrisburg last week trying to get antique tags for a 1963 Ford Falcon Ranchero that has not been out of the garage for 20+ years. He couldn't move it so he took the best pictures he could and was a little worried about the angles, but that was the least of his worries. The woman at the window had him wait until she talked to her supervisor and then returned to tell him his request was denied because there was DUST on the vehicle! :let_it_all_out: The truck is bronze color and it probably would not even have been noticeable if he had not left a hand print on the door that really made the dust stand out. We've got other stories as well of some of the crazy ideas PennDOT clerks have about the rules. If you don't get satisfaction from one clerk, walk out, then go back in, get another ticket and hope you get a different clerk. :secret:
Oh, never mind........I see you are in Texas.
