I was talking to a guy at the park the other day that had a really sweet '68 Camero. The car was just perfect!! Looking under his hood at his perfectly detailed 350 I noticed that even his HEI distributer cap matched the rest of the car. Of couse he had panted it also and I thought to myself "what a great idea"!! considering the caps only come in a few colors.
I know it sounds like such a simple idea but it really does add to looks of an engine compartment and I just thought I'd share it with you. If you do attempt it just make sure you prep the surface of the cap like you would with any other surface you would paint. Acording to him there is "plastic spray primer" you should use before painting.:scatter:

Excelente tip thanks. After seeing all the outstanding Elkys at the Texas gathering in Belton this past May, I know I have alot of work to do before next year. My plan is to pull the Big Block and detail everything under the hood.
