I have a 1970 El Camino that never had factory AC.
I want to install an under-dash AC unit so I don't have to cut up my dashboard or run ducting. I also figure under-dash is cheaper.
So I'm looking for a recommendation based on experience for a company that offers all-in one under-dash kits (unit, hoses, compressor etc) that are easy to install, affordable, and of good quality.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Call the guys at Classic Auto Air in Grapevine....the build em right there....and can put together anything you need.
Chances are they will have something already designed for your model, but if not I`ll bet they can help.
I bought one of their "off the shelf" kits....but I knew I was going to change the v belt set up on the 283 over to serpentine...so they just sold me the evaporator kit and helped me custom fit all of the underhood stuff.
I couldn`t have been more satisfied. They were quality folks with quality "stuff"...and they were local.
Hope this helps.

Classic Air Tampa if it is the same company (I think so) they make a good unit and are good with problems at least the the home office in Tampa is. I have used several units, go to there site or google them.
Vintage Air has been around for ever and has a good name, Old Air I have used some parts and custom pieces no systems.

Ok, I've bitten the bullet! I ordered a full underdash kit from Classic Auto Air. Total cost is like $1150. Will update with progress!
