1971 el camino headlight frame the same as chevelle :?

Identical to a 71 Chevelle. All nose parts (hood, fenders, bumpers, radiator support) are the same.

Only the nameplate was changed to protect the innocent . . . . .

Nope not true, but I wish it were. The fender contours of the chevelle are different than the elky in 1971 & 72. The fender itself & headlight bucket are both different. The parking lite housing & lens are different also. If you remove a parking light lens you will see that the edge is embossed "Wagon & ElCamino ONLY" Earlier years are interchangable.

The headlight bezel itself is the same on a 71 Camino or Chevelle not muxh else on the front is though. Also the bezels are for the 71 year ONLY! The 72 bezels are different.

I forgot the 71-72 uses the 68-69 Elky body even though the Chevelle body changed out all of the sheet metal. The fenders were a weird hybrid of both body styles weren't they? Sorry about that.

. . . Maybe there is another year (other than my 60) where body parts are a PIA to locate . . .

I'm almost 99%certain that if they are for an elky, they will have "El Camino & Wagon ONLY" empbossed on the back. I took mine off a year or so ago and vaguely remember that being there.
