Aubruns (cones) can't be rebuilt.

I'd go with a used Eaton and rebuild it.

I'd go with an eaton or a powertrax since both are rebuildable.

If this is going to be driven daily then I'd go with a PowerTrax Positive traction device. If the 10 Bolt is a 8.5" and your going to be driving it only once in a while I'd go woth the PowerTrax LockRite locker. Its only 199.00 for the version that fits a 10 bolt 8.5" but they are 399.00 for the one that fits inside the 10 bolt 7.5"

No cones, no clutches and no special lube and you don't have to rebuild the differential to install them. The installation takes a couple of hours and you don't have to add or remove the carrier or shims or do the depth gauge thing.

Just my 0.02 worth. :o

More at first than after about 300 or so miles. The LockRite version, its actually a locker, is more pronounced and is not intended to go away.

Do you think that a locker type differential is better than a clutch or cone design? What about that Torsen design? I've read that it is superior.
