: Region 7 needs to do something.
pongo 07-02-2011, 02:26 PM Is there anyone in region 7 that knows of a central place that we can set up a cruise in for our region? You know have a meet and greet, do some grilling, maybe some music, etc. I like what the Texas group is doing, getting the members active with their hobby, and I would like to see our region get active too. I would even like for our region 7 to have a logo like the Texas and a few of the others have. Just a thought, let me know how many others in this region would like to see the same thing.

skinyfisher 07-02-2011, 03:48 PM Get you group together and travel down the Ocala Florida for our next Region 6 meet October 1st at the NPD all GM show. We meet there ever year usualy about 20 or so members plus there other 600 tp 800 GM's that come. Bit of a road trip but its a good one, very easy for the southern AL and GA members.
pongo 07-02-2011, 03:50 PM Portland Sounds good to me. How about more info on the Ocola location.
skinyfisher 07-02-2011, 04:04 PM http://www.elcaminocentral.com/showthread.php?t=41803
Here is the info from the Region 6 thread for the up coming show you should find the NPD link to the info and registration forms and park info.
The show is held at Silver SPrings Park has zoo, boat rides on the famous springs, shops and of course the car show. The 500 free registration spots are gone already but it only $21.00 for the car and 2 people for the show and the day at the park, well worth it. We park togethers a group and all show cars are inside the park on grass. The hotels that most stay at is listed and is accross the street form the park. I think Ocala is about a 80 to 90 miles for the Ga border and then the park is about 8 miles east of I75.
If anyone wishes more info and would be able to make it our group would wecome you and give me a PM with your questions.
pongo 07-02-2011, 06:51 PM Some car clubs or chapters meet up and drive US129 the tail of the dragon at Deals gap. I have been there several times and always enjoyed driving it and, watching all of the different cars that go on it.But I have never meet another El Camino on it. Here is a picture of my 78 on the Dragon

pongo 07-03-2011, 11:26 AM Ok Region 7 members, when would be a good time of the year to try and get a meet up? September or maybe October? Sense our region covers such a large area, there is no 1 good place that is ideal for everyone to drive to. I was thinking if maybe we could get several different locations, across the region, to host a meet and greet, more people would be able to make it, and more likely to come out. I have a area to host one in Tullahoma, done talked to a BBQ team to fix some food, got a Dj to play some tunes, all I need is some El Camino's to go with it. Let me know what you think, and I will see if I can get it off the ground. We can make it an all day event, or just an afternoon/ night thing. This could be the start of a local chapter here, who knows?
CANTED 07-03-2011, 08:27 PM I agree, TK. I would make the trip to Tullahoma if I am not working. Not a bad location as it is close to part of all three states. You told me you might like to make the trip to the cruise in near me. The next one will be July 16, it would be great to meet and talk about your plan. PM me and let me know. If any other region 7 members share our enthusiasm, please speak up and we will get something in the works.

I know what you mean about those Texan Show Offs, LOL! They do have a solid group of El Camino enthusiasts. Good Luck!
CANTED 07-03-2011, 08:58 PM True enough Mike. The Texas and Florida members are examples that all club members should look up to. You guy's....well...:You_Rock:
Ted Dubree 07-04-2011, 11:07 AM Tullahima is good for me.
skinyfisher 07-04-2011, 01:11 PM TED your on the Special Guest list for the GM show as our out of Region person, we had Ken Rogers Texas at Bradenton, BGblock from PA at West Palm, so we need that Tenn Elky and everyone else that is looking for good day to make that OCT 1 show.
Keyser Sose 07-04-2011, 02:19 PM They always have a killer car show/cruise-in at the aviation museum in Warner Robins, Ga around labor day weekend, maybe a week or 2 later. Great show and killer planes! They even have an F-15 trainer cockpit (only) that you can set in and take your picture! Everything from a 1919 Curtis Jenny to an SR-71, C5A, and B-52!! Neat place! One of the old pumper trucks has a pair of chromed out Buick nailheads running the pumps!!
