Still working on the 86 gages. I have power to the pink/black wire, the actual gage wires seem to be grounding out somewhere.
Does anyone know where the pink/black actually connects to the other wires like green for temp gage, brown for alt etc. Diagram shows that the pink intersects them all but is that under the dash? Should be at one point where that connection is made.

I suspect the temp wire is grounding but haven't found a bad spot anywhere. Volt meter shows a ground on the green wire at plug for printed circuit. I could replace the wires one at a time if I did it at that junction??????right?

Schematic says seatbelt buzzer and one leg of it goes to the gauge cluster fuse for the pink and black wire.Look at the printed circuit connector in the schematic and follow the wire you want.

The pink/black originates at the gauge fuse. Up in the harness there is a factory solder splice that feeds it off in multiple directions. The green temp gauge goes to the firewall connector. The fuel gauge wire goes to the flat connector just below the fuse box that feeds the rear of the cruck.
Not sure what you mean about an intersection.

Ok thanks for that . That is what I wanted to know.

Put in a new printed circuit to rule that out. Cut the oil sender wire at firewall because I suspected that as the culprit.
I now have fuel gage, volts and temp working. Dash lights work. Tach does not and of course oil pressure does not.

bright light indicator works on bright and barely glows on dim.
left turn signal barely glows when not in use.
right turn signal indicator does not work at all>>>...????????

tracking down a bad ground or what????????
