:D Just got my 76 classic home and got her cleaned up. I noticed I have 3 problem areas. First is the bed has some rust through places. Can I replace the bottom of the bed? It looks like it has a front and rear panel and I would like to replace them. Second the passenger floorboard has some holes in it and I think I will just weld in a aftermarket plate. Is this the way to go? And third I seem to be having trouble finding a replacement right inner fender well. Can anyone tell me a good source? Right now she has maroon interior and she's white. I would like to keep the interior the same color but would like to repaint the outside and suggestions on a good color? My wife loves this car so it will be a family project. From talking to other guys who have restored cars I guess I'm pretty lucky. Any help would be much welcomed.

This rusty floor means water leaks into the cab. Check the windshield posts. and rear window carefully for water leaks and make sure you fix them. Good luck to you and your wife on the project, it's great to have the little lady behind you on a project like this.

Floor panels can be got from a same year range Station Wagon if that is how you want to do it. It's on a modified Station Wagon base. You can buy a new bed floor. I believe that Goodmark makes them but that part I could be wrong about. They come in two pieces, left and right and the smuggler's box will be covered up completely by the panels.

Fenders and fender wells I don't remember seeing anyone that actually makes replacement fenders or fender wells just off hand. You have a Bi-Centennial year vehicle. Probably doesn't mean much but that was produced "in theory" during the American Bi-Centennial year. I think its special but that is just my opinion. :D

Welcome fella fourth generation owner to ECC / NECOA! I hope that you find the information you need here. Does your EC Classic have the two tone trim? Its going to be difficult finding some of the parts for your truck, which to me makes a completed 4th generation vehicle especially nice to have. Most pull off the trim, smooth the bodies and go with that look. Its still a good look but I like the trimmings myself. It's like having Turkey for Thanksgiving and not any of the dressing or Yams, Cranberry salad etc... Just a Turkey. :D

Good Luck with your project and once again Welcome to the best and only definitive El Camino Site on the internet. 8)

Hello,
I have the same year elky and the owner before me replaced the bed with diamond plate aluminum. It looks like a major welding job, so you may want to look into a professional if you're not experianced. I recently bought one of those bed liner roll-on kits for 60 bucks and did that.. Took 2 days, 1 to wash and 1 to paint. Looks great

What kit? Where did you get it?

I put in a roll-on bed liner from walmart and spent $75 all-in-all. Took 2 days as well.
Check my other post for more in-depth info.

I bought one from advanced auto parts. Cost me $60, and it came with the roller and kit, no roller handle though. You'll definitely need a heavy brush and roller handle to put it on. Lots of tape too.

I'll see if i can get some pictures

I bought a 75 for parts and may have the inner fender panel you need. If you want to stay with an original bed floor the one in this on is not all that bad. Just surface rust. I plan to use the bumpers, frame and suspension. Other than that parts are up for grab.

I am located just south of Birmingham, AL.
