First of all I would like to say thank you for having such an amazing forum. But i need help decoding my cowl tag. I have very little info on the cruck and would like to know more.
Specifically,
The sideways 3, the trim code and everything below it.

Forgot to mention that the sideways 3 is in a different font and indented instead of raised like the rest of the plate.

I'll see if i can post a picture.

General Motors Corporation
12A (sideways) 3
12A - Month an week of production 12=Dec; A=1st week of when started
sideways 3 is just some sort of inspection stamp and what it means will never be known

ST 67-13680 BF02829 BODY
ST is short for Style
67 = 1967 model year
13680 = El Camino Custom 2-Dr Pickup Delivery
BF - Fremont CA (final assembly plant) Fisher Body Plant Code for Chevelle line
02829 = serial number assigned to this body

TR 784 GG Paint
TR is short for TRim (interior)
784=Interior trim code (don't have ref handy)
GG =Upper/Lower paint color (don't have ref handy)

B90 = Roof Drip Molding

35953 02 35C are internal plant processing numbers placed on the trim tag so the body could be traced during production. Mean nothing, sort of like a master computer record number etc.

Body by fisher
GM Division who built bodies from firewall back, trimmed out with carpets etc and shipped by conveyor thru the common wall between the 2 facilities to a holding area on the final assembly lines called the "Body Bank" Once the car was received in the body bank, the codes on the trim tag were input into the plant computer broadcast system which then cross-referenced back to the production order sent from the Chevrolet Central office and the VIN's were generated and assigned. The body was then staged for release to the final line. The workers in the body bank had rules to follow when releasing a body for final assembly and when those rules were met (work content of vehicle) it was placed on the conveyor line as the system broadcast to all work stations and parts build up areas to start making sub-assemblies etc and staged them to the line so as to meet up with the car at the precise time and place so the items could be installed and the vehicle completed. Once the vehicle was put on the final line there was not way to remove, it was locked in to the end of the line. Every operation in the who build cycle relied on the 359530235C to link it all together.

Probably already found the answer to trim and paint but in case you haven't...784 is Medium Gold Imitation Leather buckets and GG is Granada Gold (lower/upper) paint codes.

Might also note that one of those bottom numbers, 35953 in your case, is the order number from the dealer's original order sheet. The other pair of numbers (I suspect 35C is really 350) are as Mike noted, just internal tracking numbers. Sometime between your 12A body date and at least 12D body dates, the format of this last pair of numbers changed from a 2-digit and 3-digit number to a single 6-digit number. They mean something, just not much after 40+ years. :beer:
