A friend of mine just bought a brand new f150 (I think?) anyways he drove both the V8 and the V6 twin turbo. (the same one their putting in Mustangs next year) Now I'm not trying to sell F--ds but this is a cool video of all the stress test done then a tear down after 165,000 burtal miles. Pretty cool tech stuff!!!
Don't throw rocks at me until you at least check it out!!

One of my coworkers bought an X cab 4x4 with the EcoBoost V6 Twin Turbo. He seems to like it alot and very pleased with 22mpg hwy. I guess that is pretty good considering its 4x4 and a full size truck. He says power isn't a problem either. i have a feeling though, he might get a suprise when he goes to tow something heavy. I can see that the hp would be good, but I have a feeling it will lack torque for towing.

v6 with twin turbo isn't that bad for a street vehicle. More practical, IMO, than Variable Displacement.

Did you watch the part of them towing 2 Nascars at 13000 pounds for 24 hour with wide open throttle?

I"ll admit Ford makes a decent truck. I happen to have a 93 E-350 Box van with 173,000 and it still runs like new. 460 EFI with 4 speed Auto. Gas hog though. I've owned it for 13

But for the statement of best selling truck for how many years, I don't buy that one. Its the class of the F150 which is 1/2 ton pick up trucks. If you were to combine Chevy and GMC trucks, Ford trucks have not outsold GM trucks for all those years they claim. Granted by name, Ford wins, but not by manufacturer is my point.

Im a Chevy fan as far as cars go...but you can't beat Ford trucks. I have a 1993 F-150 with the inline 6 cyclinder 4.9 liter with 250,000 miles that still runs like brand new. I also have a 1999 F-250 with the Triton V10...even though this engine doesnt have great fuel economy, it has diesel-like torque and will pull absolutely anything you hitch it to. I love my Chevy El Caminos and other Chevy cars, but I will always drive Ford trucks.

I'll agree with that E-Man. I won't say I've not bought Chevy/GMC trucks either. All depends what I buy the truck for. If its nothing but a work truck and going to be worked hard with heavy weight, I'll buy the Ford, if its daily driver or family get around vehicle, towing my ATV's etc, I'll buy the GM truck. While Ford makes a better chassis as far as strength, the GM trucks have always been more comfy, feature loaded and better on mpg than any of my Fords. That inline 6 you speak of can't be killed and have plenty of torque. I've had several F150 from's 93-96 and all of them were 300 I6 with the sissy Mazda 5 speed. All I had was a trans problem popping out of the 3rd in one of them, and a slave cylinder go bad on one of them. Other than that, they were problem free.
