Does anyone have a good solution for the water leaks to the front floor board on the 5th generations. Is it coming from around the windshield or what?

Welcome to the #1 issue with G bodys,, yes the windshield leaks,, also the sealent around the heater/A/C box also leaks,, the correct way and I do this to each G body I get,, pull the front & rear glass and reseal both, this will save your floor boards,,matty man

Just a brain wave here,
As I was removing the windshield on my 80, I noticed a strip of plastic/ rubber under the stainless trim under the hood, it was between the stainless and the windshield.
The stainless is about 4" wide and covers the lower part of the windshield,i have not seen this in any catalogs what does it do ? how important is it. Mine was shot so I fabricated one from rubber.
thanks in advance

Mike's Montes sells that plastic strip that goes between the windshield and the molding. It's about $20.00. He also sells the 5th gen airbox gasket which is hard to find. I think those run about 8-10 dollars.

X2^^ the heater box gasket is a great item! Mike from Mike`s Montes is a great guy to deal with,, expect some rust damage under your glass and repalce all plastic clips and if any of the "tits" that the plastic snaps to have a body/restro shop spot weld in new ones,, matty man
