Insight of the new calender being put together by acauth1 brought to my attention by kenrogers1 i would like to thank both of you for the chance of my "cruck" to be in a calender, along with many others on this great website.

I would like to take a pole on these 4 photos of which you think is the nicest or "perfect pose".

I like the car as it appears in Pose #2. But that background really kills it, and you need to use your flash to fill in the details better.

Give it another try and take your time setting up the shots. That ride has certainly got a shot at this, but the photo quality is the most critical factor!

These photos were taken with my iPhone 3GS so te quality is not the greatest,
I'm going for the angle/pose liked by most people, I will get better quality photos done for my entry

Your Elky is sweet! I'm going to enter too once my paint is done in a couple of weeks. I happen to live near a couple of nice parks with a nature setting. I'm going to try a background like that for my entry. I'd do something other than a parking lot.

For those who are planning on taking shots to submit, I suggest that you visit the "Gallery" here and scroll thru all the shots for previous years' calendars. Those are the best looking rides, the best locations, and the best color/contrast. If you mimic those successful shots, you will have a good chance of getting in the 2012 Calendar!

My friends, after considerable thought, I really don't believe that a system-wide poll is the appropriate tool in the very early stages of our annual photo competition. The results of a poll for this Elky's photo may very well not apply, yet be applied to other members' Elkies - and that would be a shame. Different colors give different results as far as angles where the camera is situated, just as the different available light does on the same vehicle throughout the day. We really want the members to submit their best efforts for the contest - then let the votes come in. Let's drop the poll, but keep up the discussion of tips for better photography. If anyone noticed, I gave several excellent resources for achieving photographic excellence with your subject.................Ken
