How does the electric choke hook up on say a Holley 4 bbl. Does it just need a 12v source, or is it something with the cars wiring harness.
We plan on purchasing either a Holley or Edlebrock quad.
I know years ago I had a Holley Econo Quad with manual choke and the choke stunk.

Electric chokes have come a long way since then. Yes, you are right about a 12volt source. There are only 2 wires, a posative and a negative. Make sure you don't throw away the directions, lol, because it should instruct you on adjusting to the lean or rich side, with the round black housing(where the wires hook up) that holds the spring that controls the choke itself. Electric is the only way to go.

I put a Holley Street Avenger (Elec choke / Vac secondary) on a small block 400 in my 1/2 ton pick up and it was bolt on out of the box all I had to do was a slight Idle adjustment and it has been on there for about 2 years with no problems.

I am real pleased with my Edelbrock 1406, but whatever you get go electric. Your car will thank you. :)
