Well, I noticed that in one of the 5th gen pics. that someone had a 120 speedo. I was hopeing that someone could let me know what it is out of, and where I could find one.

I checked with a local speedo shop and they will recalibrate a 85 mph to 120 mph for $75. Thats a whole lot cheaper than what those 120's usually go for on ebay. Just add a new overlay and your good to go...

I agree with 87SS. I've seen those selling on Ebay...even speedos up to 140mph for Elkys. Get the overlay and have it recalibrated...it's just a lil more work, and a whole lot cheaper! But I guess if you like to throw away money Jacobs speed is the seller on Ebay. Malibu's with the police package came with either 120 or 140 mph speedos...good luck finding one!

I agree with Ernie, some of those speedo's that Jacobs sells on Ebay go as high as $125-$150,plus shipping - buying a decal and having it reclaibrated is a lot better way to go. Although I'm not crazy about the 85 mph speedo in my '81, my goal is to restore the truck back to stock, so i'm sticking with the original (who knows someday it may be a collectors item).

I saw one on E-bay yesterday that went to 180! Now that's being overly optimistic...

Another good place to find one is in the old Malibu cop cars. I had a 79 that had the whole gauge package like an SS or Monte. If you can get into a junkyard that has one...grab it up. Good luck on your search.
