Can any recommend a good product that I can use to clean and remove the overspray from aluminum parts. The moron who painted my car really didn't take time to cover trim parts as he should. Parts of the grill, headlight bezels and others have a good amount of red overspray on my 60 elky.

Thanks
Taz

Lacquer thinner on a piece of paper towel works for me. not too wet as it will mark/remove the paint surounding the trim.
then finish up with some chrome polish.

Fast Thinner always does the job as mentioned.

If you got base and clear on the pieces and it dried, you may have to use a gray 3M scotch brite pad with the LT to get it off, which will flatten the pieces, but some like this look as it favors a brushed finish somewhat.

If you want to brighten them up afterward instead, use a little Mothers Mag polish cream and a few minutes of elbow grease and they will look like chrome. the longer/more you rub on them, the shinier they will get.

The bed trim requires more work, but the results are worth it.

Hope this helps!

A product called Goof-Off works also, easy to use, made for this purpose

Only give away my detail tips here.

Here is a great tip on this....Enamel Reducer. Go to any auto paint supplier and get "Mild" not hot Enamel Reducer. It will work like magic and safely remove all and any overspray in seconds. This as also great for removing any sticky stuff like tapes, decals etc. Also works great removing any sticky road tar on the bottoms of your doors or behind the wheel openings. Just remember to rewax where used.

Just remember you can use this safely on paint if it is not fresh/new paint.

Remember to use in open air space or this stuff will have you flying like a kite.
