HELP :!: :!: The 305 in my 79 went bad and I am trying to put a 350 Vette engine in it is a 1966 and everyting is fine except the passengers side exaust manifold is too long and won't bolt up. The Vette manifold exits in the center and I would never get a pipe on. What manifold can I use :?: :?: :cry: [B]

Doesn't the exhaust manafolds that you had have a bunch of smog stuff on them? If you have smog checks then you'll almost have to use those or find a 350 in a junk yard with that type exhaust. Otherwise... Get a good set of headers!

:) I'm feeling better and better about helping my neighbor Sam swap a 350 in for me. He knew about the right side exhaust manifold needing to be swapped for one from a 350 when we first started talking. He is the only person I have talked to about the swap who has even mentioned that.

I'm curious, if you went that far to find and transplant a Vette motor in, why didn't you go with a set of headers?

Any A-G body 78-87 log style manifold...you can find them at exhaust shops...call around first...found one at my local shop and it was only $25 installed.
