I believe the 12th may work. My daughter is having a sleep over birthday party on the 11th, so I will probably be ready for a sanity check. 8O I do have plans for that evening.

As far as the tranny goes, all I had to do was spend $442 bucks. Simple huh? I had it pulled, every seal & gasket replaced, and a new B&M torque converter put on it. That obviously cut into my interior budget.

I'm tentatively planning on driving to a cruise in at Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet in Greenville SC with some friends that day. KW moves all the new cars off his lot for the monthly event and they have a big turnout! KW also has his own collection of classic Chevys that will be on display in the showroom. If plans change I can meet up with you guys, or maybe you would like to drive down there.

I went to a pretty good show in Matthews on Saturday. Sorry guys but I found at last minute myself. I would say 50 to 100 cars of all kinds. That's where I found out about Mint Hill.

I just got back from a trip. I see that there hasn't been much posting going on, When the weather is good its hard to sit in front of a computer. I am going to scout around & hopefully find a great place to meet like last time. Any ideas would be great.

My vette club has been meetin' over at Vinnie's on Hwy 16. It's just north of Mt.Holly/Huntersville road. Good food...great parking...nice lookin' service staff. http://temp.corvetteforum.net/c5/woeii//Smiles/dancingnaughty.gif

How about somewhere like Darlington or Rockingham? I believe Rockingham has the NASCAR hall of fame. We could meet at either place on a Saturday. They are both a little closer for us east-enders, and shouldn't be too far for most of the folks that were at the last gathering. I personally don't care, but I know some of the folks drove a lot further than the eight hours round-trip that I drove.
My 82 SS is currently in the body shop getting a new coat of paint. It should be road worthy the first part of August. I picked up an 84 SS with the stock gas-eating 305/350 combo. I plan on changing that in the very near future.
Any how, the places are just suggestions, I'm open to most any place.

A number of other "meeting" places in the Lake Norman area come to mind as well (if that's an area of interest to meet). And there's all kinds of NASCAR shops and museums in Mooresville if anyone's interested in makin' a bit more of an all day or afternoon "event" out of the trip.

Tommy
07-03-2004, 08:19 AM
Hum, I could make a trip to Mooresville.

Alchemist

Had another thought too. There's LOT'SA parking and "eaterys" at Cannon Village if that would be of interest as a place to meet also.

Can't get rid of me that easily. Yep Tommy, I'm still here and been kind of half heartedly keeping up with things I'm ashamed to admit. It's been a really busy summer and I just haven't spent a lot of time at the home computer. It gets tough to do sometimes after spending all day at work in front of one.
Tommy, I got your voicemail too late tonight (TUESDAY) to return your call. Been out putting new brakes and shocks on my every day ride. I'll hollar at you early Wed. evening.
As far as the 24th at Concord Mills, it sounds good to me. I'll be there unless something REALLY important comes up!

Tommy
07-14-2004, 03:47 PM
Bobby, Glad your still around. Ok that's 4 of us so far. Can anyone else make it? I am going to have a hard time getting over there this week, but will try the first of next week.

Tommy...when ya go...be sure'n pick out an easy spot for us to find. It would be VERY easy to not be able to find a small group of elkys in that MASSIVE parking lot!!!

Tommy

If i remember correctly, the far end of the mall (opposite end from Bass Pro) is usually the least congested. That may be the easiest spot to find one another.

That's the EXACT spot where my vette club meets when we're getting together there. There's no resturaunt there on the east end of the mall, but no biggie...we'll just cruise en-mass around the parkin' lot to wherever we go. :D

I'm thinking about driving up but I'm not saying for sure yet.

I'm finishing up building a 12 bolt for Ol Paint and I'm unsure if I can get it in and checked out before I hit the road or not. I probably should just leave the 2.73, ten bolt in till afterward. I'm anxious to try the 3.31, 12 bolt out though. I'll keep you guys posted.
