My 68 originally came with a 6 cyl and the previous owner dropped in a 307. The engine is not level and sits back about 2 inches too far. After looking at the engine mounts, it seems they're not welded on very well 8O .

My question is: is the frame different on a 6cyl car than an 8cyl? If so, are there specific conversion mount kits and could the guy have simply chosen the wrong mounts?

I want to drop a 350 into the car but want to be sure before I begin.

On the 68's the mounts are't welded on they bolt in. If they are welded they may not be in the right place. You can bolt v8 mount in even in a inline 6 car the holes are there. You can buy new mount plate for about 60$.
