I recently bought a 66 El Camino but keys did not come with it.I have tried to remove the key cylinder but no luck.I have a key that goes in but will not turn.Is there a way to remove the cylinder other than drilling it out.and if I have to drill it out what where do I need to drill. Thanks for any help!!

Hi,

Did you stick the end of a paperclip into the small hole on the key tumbler? Try that with the key in and while pushing in on the paperclip pull the tumbler out....

After you get the paperclip in that little hole, turn the key to the left (ccw). The guts of the switch will come out. After that, you can take the threaded bezel nut off and the entire switch will come out from the other side of the dash.

Didn't you guys miss his question?--he doesn't have any keys. Probably snapping the lock cylinder out with a small slide hammer is your best bet.

Take it to a lock smith. I know it won't start so you will have to tow it.
LOL.
