I ran the VIN # and got all that info, but does anyone know how to fine how many were produced in 1986?

good information......has anyone seen a 1988 ?

I have been watching for an 88 but still have yet to see one , there has to be a couple still in existance

If I recall GM shifted El Camino Style production to Mexico in 1985 and the last year for models produced for sale in the USA was 1987 model year ending in July of 87. I recall reading there were not any 1988 models made despite was some publications say. It was said confusion comes because some of the 1987 models did not sell in the 1987 model year and carried over in dealer stock thru 1988 and thus were erroneously reported (not be GM) as sale of 1988 models when in reality they were 87's sold in the 1988 calendar year.


GM ceased production at the end of the 1987 model year.
