I am a new member, and love the site. I have came across several good tips that can help me with my 86. I am the second owner having bought it from a co-worker with 52,000 miles at the time. Currently I have 235,000, with the 305 and 200r4 rebuilt at 220,000.
I am confused about the "generation" thing, would someone show me the light. Thanks!!! Pop

pops here is the easiest way for me to explain it....check out the members cars page:

http://www.elcaminocentral.com/modules.php?name=Gallery

this shows the generations by years.

And welcome to the site by the way! :P

Go to the members cars sections.

Generations were the different basic body styles.

Gen 1 is 59-60
Gen 2 is 64-67
Gen 3 is 68-72
Gen 4 is 73-77
Gen 5 is 78-87

Thanks so much for the replies. When you look at the body styles of the year models it is plain to see the progression of successive generations. I have seen the light and it is good. I'll have to get some help to post my 86 and be a proud 5th generation member and owner of an all original 86.

Well, first there was Capt. Archer then Pike, then Kirk, then Picard and some others like Sisko and Janeway and then...Oh, El Camino Generations.... :-)

Hi Pops and welcome to our informative and twisted site. If you want to upload pics of your baby, lol, go to members rides page. Click on the "admin options" on the right side of the screen. Click on "new nested album". when the page loads saying" add some photos" pull down the "admin options" again and click "add photos". You can upload them from your computer or a floppy or a digital camera. I'm pretty sure of the steps, but check back with us and let us know. And way to go on the cars for your kids. You deserve the pony, enjoy it and we'll be wanting to see some pics of it too. lol Welcome
