Hello-
The passenger side window rolls up and down, but isn't alligned with the body frame (already replaced the weather stripping up top and pins/bushing- it lines up with the frame and striker for the most part). It tends to slide down in the back on its own. I am afraid that window might break ifI don't fix it soon.

There is an uneven gap between the door and the top door panel, so the window wobbles in that as well. I don't have a garage at the moment  so I need to get the most likely parts prior.

I am unclear as to what all the window felt is - thought I read I could just use a strip of the soft side of velcro? Where do I go to get the (probably worn) rubber washers (?) the dealership maybe?

Hopefully, just need to tighten some screws and replace some washers, but I would like to hear what anyone else thinks i might be in for.

The upper door panels look good and am replacing the lower ones that are falling apart and have multiple speakers wounds.

Hey Thanks a lot, this web site continues to Rule. :)

It sounds to me like the inside track is worn pretty bad. I'd take it apart and look at that. Sometime the rollers in the track, especially in older Elkys, get old and crack, brake or fall off. They need to be replaced. I believe the El Camino Store or ECParts have the pieces you need.

My right window gasket (Door Seal) creates a situation where I have to open the door to roll the window all the way up. It will go up all the way with the door closed but it generally leaves about a 1/4 to 1/8th inch at the back porttion. Its just the way the gasket fit.

Window felts can be purchased at the mentioned places. THey are expensive, if your actually talking about the inside/outside felts at the top of the door window opening. If you are talking about the pieces inside the door well that is a different story. I haven't seen any for sale I had to make one from a piece of carpet.

Yeah-
Got the lower panel off pretty much no further damage - am missing one of the three carpet covered clamps - in the back, which is causing the missalign. Didn't find it floating around on the bottom the door, but I did finda locknut that had come off. Will get a new carpet clamp piece. Will check the rollers next for sure. Only the outer door felts are rough, but will wait and see if this other stuff fixes things sufficiently. So I think I am in business, just need to get that Pay Pal set up  never used it before.

Is painting plastic lower door panels as easy as it sounds (what kind of paint?) Well, hey, thanks-

Making progress,
J

Man, I fabbed up a bracket with 16 guage squares drilled and bolted it in with a few extra nuts to get it the right distance. Used a felt guide for the bottom of furniture to skid around on wood floors. And adjusted the other two felt clamps to push it out against the outer felt. Still a tiny gap at the back, which will give me some road noise on the highway unless I was thinking putting a small strip of weatherstrip, but on the inside against the window, not so it gets squished and leaves a gap at its end (already tried that, shaving down weather stipping). So good news! Will post a pic later hopefully.

Got the insulation from Menard's becuase right now it is cooking to drive around in! This weekend's project.

Thanks!
