I have a problem with my brake lights. I have hazard lights and turns signals but no brake lights. I have checked the ground and that is OK. I think that the problem is in the turn signal switch. I have power coming in (white wire) but nothing coming out (Green and yellow wire). I checked the power on the connector at the base of the steering shaft. That is the connector but where is the switch. Is it in the steering column?
Thanks for any help

I did find where the switch is. I was hoping that it wasn't in the steering column, but it is. Anyway does anyone know if I have to replace the switch or is there something that can be fixed. If it is mechanical, many times they are just dirty????
Has anyone had this problem with the turn signal switch?

This is a fairly common problem on the older switches. The best solution is to replace it IMO. BTDT

Hi, did you check to see if you've got power coming off the brake light switch ? located down by the brake pedal, turn lite & hazzard are seperate feeds to the switch at the top of the column --you could have no power to brake switch its on a seperate fuse. No power at switch check the fuse.

I have power through the brake light switch up to the turn signal connector on the steering column. That is where it stops.
There was a sight showing how to remove the ignition and/or turn signal switch in the steering column. I used it before and saved it but I lost everything on my computer. Does anyone remember that sight?
Thanks

This is for a tilt column but it should be the same down to the point of changing out the turn signal switch.

Thanks for the sight. I used it last time it took it apart. It was a great help.
