Hello,

I've just bought a 1960 ElCamino and started a complete restoration.
I plan to change those ugly wheels she has and put some Torq-Thrust style wheels (old school look).

here is what I'm thinking about :
15x8 on front
15x10 on rear

will it fit ?
also, can you tell me what bolt circle / backspace / offset I should use.

concerning the tires, 245 for the front, 295 for the rear, size 50 or 55.

any advice/comment is welcome.
I'm in France and I will order the parts from Summit, so I must choose the right tire/wheel combo at the first time, since I won't be able to return it. No mistake allowed.

So if you think about other great looking wheel/tire size combos, just tell me.
There is less than 10 1960Camino in France : I want mine to be the one that people will remind

millions thanks !

How did you find a '60 in france? Where did it come from? Did the person you bought it from know what he had?

I bought it to a friend who needed some cash to finish his 1955 pro street Bel Air project.
I paid it about $6500.
I think it's a good deal :-D
there's some work to do, mainly rust to eliminate, but that's all.
there a 350 inside instead of the stock 283.

the car comes from Germany.
in 1996 she belong to the bike trial world championship. now she's mine, and I think I will keep it for a while !!!

I think there are less than 6 such Caminos in France.

Olivier,
I'm restoring a 59 right now. You can get much bigger if you want on your tire / wheel combo. 17 to 18's with 45 low profiles fill the wells up real nice. If your not in too much of a hurry and since your oveseas, when I get ready to do mine I'd be happy to forward you the info. The Ol Skool Torq-Thrust are starting to come out with bigger and wider sizes.
Later,
RS

Hi Spanner,

no I'm not in a hurry. wheels are a bit pricy so I have to wait until I have the money.

If you can send me info when your wheels will be done, I will appreciate !

thanks in advance !
