:texas:I used the Mother's California Gold clay bar system on my 72 yesterday and followed it with Mequiars NXT Gen liquid wax. Very happy happy with both products (so far). Spent about 4 hrs including coffee breaks.

I did the same thing to my wifes Altima last week but used Mothers California Gold carnuba liquid cleaner/wax. Still slick as a baby's butt.

I grew up in a body shop environment, so I've been buffing, polishing and detailing cars for over 40 years. IMO, clay is the most significant advancement in the paint polishing process in my lifetime. If you've not yet clayed your Camino, just do it. Your paint will love you and it makes subsequent applications of polish or wax go so much easier. When I think of all the hours spent years ago, muscling a 10 lb. buffer, trying to get a finish as smooth as a simple clay job does, my shoulders hurt all over again.

I was leery of clay for a few years until an Elky buddy I trust told me he used it and loved it....

So I bought some and did it in like 2+ hours then another hour for wax... your Elky will never be cleaner than after a wax treatment - its amazing !

Me to Bill, I am old school and have always used my buffer. I have used the claybar system on my 2 daily drivers and love it.

My elky paint is not worthy yet, lol

Clay cuts to the quick on stuff that gets embedded in the paint. I'm a detailer and I use it on cars that have been around pollution, trees, etc.

Then go over the surface with a good wax... happy car.
