In an attempt to better serve our members with opportunities to get together for meetings, shows, or other reasons, a new information category has been added to the User Profile. Each new registrant will now be asked to identify the geographical area of his/her State that they're from. A pull-down list of selections are available that include North, Northeast, Northwest, Northcentral, Central, South, Southeast, Southwest, Southcentral, East, Eastcentral, West, and Westcentral. We believe this information can be important in the future as we expand the services available from the Forum Administrators to the Regional Directors, their Deputies, and to members who want to join with other local members.

When this information becomes available, the Administrators will for the first time have the ability to search for the members in a specific area of a State. This information can then be transferred to the Director who is attempting to get members out for an area show, meeting, or cruise. Another use could be to furnish our new members a list of nearby NECOA folks who may be available for mentoring, hands-on help, or just to bench race with.

I hope that all members can see the benefits of collecting this additional information. We at the Board want to be able to assist our membership with services that help them build this Association from the bottom up. We believe that the more assistance we can provide to help the local or area groups grow, the faster the State and Regional groups will grow.

As part of this effort, and to jump start the availability of the location information, I would like to ask every member to visit their "User CP", located on the top ribbon of every ECC Forum screen. When you open your "User CP", please select "Edit your Details" from the list located on the left side of the screen. From there, scroll down to "Location area within your State", and select the most appropriate area of your State. You will have to select one of the choices before scrolling all the way to the bottom of the page and selecting "Save Changes". You will be required to make a selection from the list before clicking on the Save Changes button.

I thank you for your time and efforts. If we have thorough participation, it should not be long before you can begin to see the results of this new data.................Ken
