This saturday i decided to work on the Elky after letting it sit for a month. Once i started it i realized it was out of gas. SO i pulled out of the drive and lit up the tires down the street (just to make sure it was all good) It was technically all good till i decided to stop...at which point the brake pedal went to the floor with no pressure. Being a driver since pre-teen years, i was able to stop it without crashing into anything. Still cruised to the gas station to fill up with 93, then to the carwash, and then to the neighborhood autozone to get some brake fluid. Got home only to find a leaky master cylinder, so i took it off real quick and drove the truck to autozone again. Suprisingly, the master cylinder was only $17.99 which made me a happy camper. They scanned my autozone card and said i had a $20 credit. So i got a free master cylinder, threw it on the Elky, and bled the brakes. Stops on a dime now. :nanawrench:

sometimes it,s really nice to have a commonparts vehicle. otherwise you,d be talking about how MUCH you spent. Do it yourself labor sure don,t hurt either . A discount brake repair shop may have charged approx $300 for what you just did.

Don't be so modest ... bunch of "guys" and "bros" those days can't change a light bulb without service guy stopping by.
I remember when I jumped on my bicycle and brought new battery in a backpack from a nearby advanced. In need we can fix the **** out of anything. Revive pressure washer that was stored 5 years, fix a weedwacker, get things running and functioning again - and so on ... lucky us :P Imagine how much money you would spend for labor on all those thing you are able to do yourself ... and the amount of satisfaction that goes wit it
