If I put an electric fan on my '80 w/305 V8, what temperature should I have the fan turn on?

160 stat 180 turnon

too cold
Fan has no reason to ever come on before 200
I have them set in my 59 to come on at 225

This might be a bit too warm for earlier engines, but even back in the 60s they were not "HOT" until 243-----when the light came on

The warmer the engine---the better the oil works and all condensation will evaporate from the crankcase
