It was either Car Carft or Super Chevy that had an article about using Ford Taurus or Lincoln MK VIII fans. I lost my copy of the mag.

Does anyone have a link to that article? I've searched but haven't been able to find it.

It was Car Craft. Either the Sept or Oct issue. Lemme take a look...be back in a sec...

It's in the current issue of Car Craft (Oct. 11), which is why there is no link to it on the website. They want you to go out and buy the mag. However, when the Novemeber issue is on the shelves, they'll put it on their online archives. In the mag, it's in a section called "Junkyard Builder"

Correction...it's the Nov. 11 issue, not the Oct. 11. My mistake!

Because they blow! Hahaha.
seriously though, with my old 305 I was using a Bonneville fan. After my 406 went in I changed to a big block Nova radiator, and a Mark VIII fan. I love it! full shroud built in and quieter than aftermarket fans.

Did you keep the Elkie fan shroud or just use the MK VIII?

From the article, it looks like the fan & shroud are all part of one assembly. There are both one and two speed versions. You can scour the boneyard or order a new one from Rock Auto for fairly cheap.

That's correct. I got one of the two-speed from a Taurus. It has a shroud, but the shroud is smaller than the Elkie shroud. That's why I asked if ratbot_ratrace had kept the stock shroud or removed it.
