Well, I think that I have bad ground somewhere,,, just don't know where. I know my grounds are good under the dash (1) on each side, and the one under the hood on the firewall is good... Don't know where else to look for ground connection on here.

I was driving tonight, hit a bump and my headlights started flickering, went very dim and then came back up normal ....

I have a multimeter but not sure how to use the darn thing....

HELP!!!

Thanks
Ray

Headlamps on both sides of the car? Probably not one bad ground since each side has it's own ground, could be both. Could be a bad ground between battery and body or engine and body, but I would suspect a bad headlamp switch, a bad fusible link, (power supply to the switch,) bad dimmer switch, bad connection at the bulkhead connector. Next time it does it see if it does it on both high and low beams.

The headlights on my 77 Elky starting doing the same thing. I replaced the headlight switch and that fixed the problem.

Well i checked it again and its doing it on high and low beam... Grounds are good , does it mean the headlight switch is bad?

Talk to me somebody

Yes, I think so. The switch only cost around $15.00 at your local auto parts store. When you change it, reach up under dash and find the switch, Then feel around for a small button. Push this button while pulling on knob and the shaft will come out and allow you to remove the switch. If you get the new switch first, you will be able to see the button on it.
Good Luck

Headlamp switch is a good guess for flickering. A lot of amperage goes thru the switch and the contacts and circuit breaker can become prone to poor contact and burnt connections.
