Owning 2 El Caminos is definately a good feeling, and I am having tons of fun in my new 81 El Camino (http://www.elcaminocentral.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=4548)! Someone came up to me when I was at the auto parts store asking if that was my el camino, and for the first time I was able to say, "Yeah....one of em!" It's also fun telling people what's under the hood when they ask, since the 81 has something to brag about. People are always asking what's under the hood of my 76, and invariably my voice will crack (even though I'm 22) when I tell them "Uh, 305" Usually when people ask me what kind of engine I have I just tell them "Internal Combustion" to jokingly avoid the truth, but I still love my 76 more than anything. Getting my girlfriend to accept that fact was a long and painful process. Buying this car helped her understand better, in a way, especially when I took her for a ride in it the first time.

You really need to drop a 383 in that 76. It is big and heavy and it would benifit from the added torque from a 383. Now that mine has this new 700R4 it is a real cruiser and on top of that it looks fine! 8)

Each model has it's apeal to me. I like my 80 as much as my 76 and as much as my 72, although the 72 is just a shell at present, basically. No engine or transmission yet.
