This is pretty bad.The regional Directors try to make things happen in there areas for the support of the ECC and members. Some of us spend alot of time making phone calls to make these things happen.I have posted in region 4 and 3 about an event that would be a great get together plus a way to let others know about our club. I have only revieved 3 responses. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest.

Afternoon Matthew. You’re doing a great job. I have seen your posts about Carlisle. It is just unfortunate that I am not able to make the trip down there. I'm hoping to be able to attend next year. That is a decent road trip.
As far as response goes, I would have hoped to see more, but it is possible that more members will show up at Carlisle. Here in Region 2, we had our first "club" outing while attending a car show last Oct. We actually had more members show up than responded to my emails. Almost a dozen El Camino's. Not to bad for our first go at it. But that was the last show of the '03 season.
This weekend we are attending our first show of the '04 season in Connecticut. Kinda a late start......but.....I'm hoping for more to show up than responded to my emails, although I have had four members respond saying they were going.
Keep up the good work and keep "venting"... 8-)

Matt,
Sorry for the non-reply to your PM, but things have been hectic here.
Might as well give you my reply here...Carlisle sounds like a wonderful opportunity to gather and everyone meet. BUT.....I'm sure I probably speak for others in saying a few things....some of ushave wives that scrutinize our spending on our cars....I'm still working on some aspects of mine, and everything spent, has to be accounted for(she wants me to sell it and get something newer and I don't have to buy anything for)...
So, the gas alone to get to and come back from Carlisle would kill me. The registration fee is $ 35.00.....plus the hotel....plus the eats.......plus what you might see at the show.........spells a lot of bucks.
I commend you for your efforts and those of other regional directors and I would like to also meet other members, but I don't feel this is a trip I can make at this time.
I have been trying to come up with a meeting place for our region's members that they would all be able to get to with the least expense and a central location that the most people could attend. It hasen't come to me yet, but I'll keep thinking.
Please keep in touch...we actually don't live too far from each other....so maybe we could start off small and then try for a larger gathering.
Thanks, Don.

My region is kinda quiet and I don't think there is a director yet per se'.
Anyway I would suggest maybe finding local weekly hangouts nearby and then just have a kind of El Camino contingent at the impromptu cruise nights.
We have one at a place called the Pavillions out here in Scottsdale AZ that has an impromptu cruise-in every Sat night. There's everything from rods to customs to musclecars to *** bikes to Harleys out there. All of the different groups of vehicles kind of congregate in their own areas.
If you can find something like that in your area maybe try starting there. You guys back east and on the west Coast really started this whole SAT night cruise thing so I figure you hafta have this stuff going on somewhere. :D
As soon as I'm done getting mine repainted I'm going to be going out there as often as I can. Right now I'm kind of embarrased with all the primer spots and sand marks and all. :)
