Ok

My Ignition switch never springs back when trying to start it. I put another Lock cylinder in and it does the same thing, But it does spring back when I have it in nuetral.

Its a floor shift automatic.

TIA guys

The piece that makes it spring back is lower on the collumn in the ignition switch. If it doesn't always crank when you have the key in the start position there is a couple of small bolts that you can loosen on the switch to adjust, switch may also be getting worn out.

There is no return spring inside the lock cylinder. The gear rack or linkage in the column is hanging up or damaged. It has nothing to do with the cylinder itself.Always try a few shots of WD-40 on everything that moves.
